Lost in a world of make believe, she tuned out everything around her -- even her baby's desperate cry for help

It pays to take things literally in Woman's Day. Reading this headline, I interpreted the 'scarring' as metaphorical, bitterness and resentment for a lifetime of neglect. Silly me! Share A Secret had more direct scarring in mind, courtesy of a saucepan of boiling water.

The damsel in the picture appears almost incapable of boiling water, quite frankly. The compulsory touch of red is provided by the collar on her pet dog (a non-textual detail), the remote control, and a few flowers on the tasteful throw cushions. Looking like this, it's no wonder she married a TV repairman.
