Milly-Molly-Mandy Goes to the Pictures

From More of Milly-Molly-Mandy (1929)

SUMMARY: Milly-Molly-Mandy goes to the next village with her family to see the pictures.

While most of the Milly-Molly-Mandy stories show their age (ever been to a village with a blacksmith?), their 1920s origin is particularly apparent in this story (the cinema has gas lighting and there's no sound). For the first time, Milly-Molly-Mandy boards the often-mentioned red bus, and also travels in a car with Mrs Green, Jessamine's mother. (Jessamine still isn't named).
